Dr. Xiaoning Sun received her Master’s and Doctoral degree in Developmental and Clinical Psychology from the University of Oregon, USA, and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Shanghai Children’s Medical Center, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. Her research interests involve the early development of self-regulation. Specifically, Dr. Sun is interested in identifying the early predictors that promote or undermine self-regulation development, with a focus on the role of sleep, as well as the neurocognitive mechanisms underlying the association between sleep and self-regulation. On related topics, she has published empirical articles in journals including Development and Psychopathology, Developmental Psychobiology, and Journal of Affective Disorders. Dr. Sun is the recipient of the 2021 ASSM Youth Travel Awards for Young Investigators.
