Hongxiao Yu got her PhD in 2021 from Hebei Medical University. Her current interest is focusing on investigation into the role of leptin signaling in central control of breathing. Using multidisciplinary approaches, she found that leptin signaling in the nucleus tractus solitarii contributes to respiratory control via a brainstem circuit. This working circuit may serve as a potential intervention target that would improve sleep-disordered breathing.
