Meng Liu is an associate professor in the Psychiatry department at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he has been a faculty member since 2011. He completed his M.D and Ph.D. at Beijing Medical University and postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School. His current research focuses on sleep neurobiology, particularly the sleep disorder narcolepsy. Dr. Liu pioneered the narcolepsy gene transfer research. His work has been continuously funded by NINDS and NIA.
